June 2010

Be sure and check out A Stitchers Garden in Fayetteville, New York www.astitchersgarden.com this month.  My friend Patricia and I delivered the "girls" on Monday to Jan at this great shop in The Canal Barn along the Erie Canal.  We had a lovely trip and stayed at the Craftsman Inn filled with Stickley furniture close by and had a great meal at the Limestone Grille associated with the Inn.  The trunk show will be on display for the month of June.  Say "HI" to Jan the owner when you visit and mention Samplers Revisited!

May 2010

Catharine McNeal and "the girls" are going to New York later this month!

No, not New York City but A Stitchers Garden in Fayetteville, NY just outside of Syracuse off of Interstate 81.  All of Samplers Revisited models are making the 6 hour trip at the end of May as they will all be on display for the month of June at this bricks and mortar Needlework Shop!  Check out their website at www.AStitchersGarden.com or call 315.449.2181 for more information.  Perhaps you might want to take a stitching vacation and see "the girls"  in person.  Now is the time to let the shop know what charts you want to purchase so we can be sure and stock enough to please everyone.

February 2010

The latest reproduction sampler!

Here she is, the latest Scottish Reproduction from Samplers Revisited, Catharine McNeal 1843.  For more information see either the "New" page or the "Reproductions" page.  The colors were taken from the front of the antique sampler and are very different than most Scottish samplers of this era.  I don't think I have ever seen a border quite like this one either.  If you like thistles, this is the chart for you!  I hope you enjoy stitching her as much as I did!

Please contact your local shop and ask for them to order her for you!  The picture below was taken in my garden during one of the recent February 2010 snow storms.  More snow is due this week and next, oh no!  I am mailing the latest charts to my distributors this week so they should be ready to purchase soon!

I am now working on a wonderful Scottish sampler from 1829 that is very colorful and lots of fun to stitch.  I hope to have this one done for the April Online Show that will be held from 15 April to 20 April this year.  Stay tuned for developments!

January 2010  Happy New Year!!!

I hope that 2010 brings you all your stitching hearts desire and lots of time to stitch and plenty of income to add to your stash.  I have been busy charting a good sized Scottish Reproduction sampler that should be out by next month.  My resolutions for 2010 are to concentrate on several large and interesting reproduction samplers, so stay tuned!

Samplers Revisited will again be participating in the wholesale Online Show in April and October.  Check back for more information next month.  Until then, stay warm (or cool if you live in the southern hemisphere) and Happy Stitching!

November 2009

Results of the Online Retail Show that ran from 5-8 November.

Results were a little different with this group of voters.  Perfect Love was the all around favorite and Isabella Gray and Henrietta McGirk tied for second.  The following 3 lucky stitchers won a prize:

Felicia Nagalski won a copy of Henrietta McGirk

Veena Parrikar won a copy of Perfect Love

Thomas Coleman won a copy of Perfect Love for his wife for Christmas!

Thank you all again for your support, your emails and your comments on what you like to stitch.  Remember if your local shop doesn't carry Samplers Revisited, ask them to check out this website so they can find a way to order charts for you to purchase!

I had so much fun reading all your entries, I will certainly do this again in the Spring when the Online Show runs again.  Thank you all for your kind words and support.  Sometimes it feels like I am working in a vacuum and to hear that you are following and supporting my work was wonderful.  I do enjoy what I do and want you to enjoy stitching it also! Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or suggestions and remember to share my website information with your local needlework store or online shop.

Summer 2009

I just came back from 2 weeks in Scotland.  I was able to visit Cromarty (way up in the Highlands on the North Sea Coast) to search for Isabella Gray's 1838 roots.  Since I knew she lived on High Street, there were only about 6 houses to choose from as possible residences before she left Cromarty.  See picture below for my best guess!

I am currently collecting pictures of your work to post on this website to show your wonderful renditions of "The Girls" as I like to call them.  Please contact me with your photos!

Here is a picture of Dorcas Coffin 1772 by Patricia Eaton, it won a first place ribbon at Needleart 2009 at Montpelier Mansion in Laurel Maryland last month!

Here is a picture of Maggie Hendry 1907 also done by Patricia Eaton !
